It is one of the imperial cities of Morocco. It was founded in the seventeenth century by Moulay Idriss, and is considered a jewel of the Arab-Spanish civilization.
The city is divided into three areas: Medina Fez El Badi, Fez el-Jdid and Ville Nouvelle (The New City).
Medina Fez El Badi is the oldest area of the city. After its walls, we find the main museums and monuments that we can visit.
In Fez el-Jdid, we can see the new one with the Royal Palace and the neighborhood (Mellah), whose visit and walk through its streets is a must for any traveler.
The New City was started during the French protectorate and is, as its name suggests, the newest part of the city and also the most international.
